A cheeky little sentiment*
Maria Thaddea (b.2002) is an emerging artist currently practising on Gadigal Land (SYD).
Centred around the catharsis of earnest sentimentality, her practice acts as an ode to her femininity and diaspora.
Her works are melancholic bastardisations of memory and heritage as she tries to cling onto her muddled understanding of the littler parts of her whole.
A sentimental artist in practice and medium, she weaves ceramics, print, textiles and immersive installations; artefacts and dreamscapes of a lost little girl who is just trying to get by.
